On behalf of the International Open Referral Initiative, we would like share an upcoming event, the Open Referral International Network Summit, taking place from the 7th– 8th October.

This is a great opportunity for anyone in the community to come together and learn from each other. This will be of particular interest to those in the following roles, resource directory information specialists, community navigators, technology developers and policymakers.

During the summit you can expect to;

- Map the progress and impact that ORUK International has achieved over the past decade+ and assess changes in the landscape during that time
- Explore new opportunities and challenges posed by AI tools in resource directory information management and delivery
- Discuss emerging experiences and new ideas – such as for structuring and transmitting user feedback on data quality – that may reveal new needs for tooling and standardisation
- Learn about collaborative data partnerships: enduring challenges and emerging best practices
- Take stock of progress towards resource data federation and outline the next chapter of work towards this big goal.

The actual agenda will be shaped in close collaboration with confirmed participants, with input solicited from all involved, and organised in a dynamic format that leaves room for emergent topics to be added to the program during the event.

Please contact Greg Bloom directly if you would like to participate or for further information. The event is open to anyone who is working to improve the quality of information about resources that are available to people in need.

There are useful lessons on adoption from both sides of the Atlantic (and beyond) so I’d recommend that both committed suppliers and public sector organisations message @bloom privately about attending.
