Hi folks – I’ve just published our 2024 Year in Review. See here: https://openreferral.org/our-2024-year-in-review/
Big thanks to so many of you here who made all this progress happen.
I’ve long said that our standards are only the means to a much greater set of ends, and this year we can see those ends emerging. To a certain extent, we can declare victory. I mean it! And it’s worth celebrating.
At the same time, we also see a terrifying turn that is accelerating in government and beyond – with powerful forces that are hostile to our purposes, and are working to prevent such ends. I think we need to name this reality, and face it. We may come out of such a reflecting process with a strategic path that looks similar to the one that we are currently on, but there also may need to be significant differences. I’m looking to hear from people in this community about what they think ought to be done.
On a technical front, a reminder to fill out our survey eliciting your feedback about our tools and documentation and other systems.
On a strategic front, please reach out to me – let’s discuss.
